Game Overview:
Journey to Atgaderum (pronounced At-gah-dare-uhm) is a 2-player cooperative puzzle-platforming game. The cooperative gameplay allows the two players to work towards the same goal while utilizing different sets of gameplay mechanics. One player plays as the Runner, who has direct control over the platforming elements of the game. The other player plays as the Architect , who can build contraptions and manipulate the environment.
Two different Interfaces:
The Runner and Architect each have their own set of mutually exclusive mechanics. For progress to be made at each step of a puzzle, the players must cooperate and use their exclusive abilities to aid each other. Only through joint problem solving and by working in tandem can each obstacle be overcome.
Along with these exclusive mechanics, the players have two very different interfaces and methods of interacting with the world. The Runner can move about and jump through the environment, as well as climb, push, and drag items as a means of interacting with the world. The architect assumes an external role, instead manipulating the environment and the Runner indirectly. He can build contraptions to be used as tools to move the runner through the world, allowing the two players together to have the tools and abilities to solve the puzzles at hand.
While having two distinct players, the game occurs all on one shared screen, allowing the two players to converse in real time and solve puzzles together.
So journey on to Atgaderum!
